Access your W-2 in 7shifts

A W-2 form summarizes your total earnings, taxes withheld, and other financial details needed for filing income tax returns. If 7shifts is your payroll provider, you can view and download your W-2 directly from your 7shifts account once they are issued. This article outlines how you can access your W-2 in 7shifts. 

⚠️ Note: Access to W-2s is only available for accounts using 7shifts Payroll. If your company uses a different payroll provider, please contact them for information on how to access your W-2.
⚠️ Important: 2024 W-2s will be available in 7shifts starting January 17, 2025.

Employee Guide: View and Download W-2

Employees can access their digital W-2 in 7shifts web and mobile platforms. However, access depends on the following factors: 

  • Employee Status (Active or Inactive)
  • Company Account Status (Active or Inactive/Cancelled) 
  • Platform Used (Web, Android, iOS)

The chart below outlines how employees can access their W-2 documents:

Inactive Employee connected to an Active Employer 

(You're no longer employed, but your previous employer uses 7shifts Payroll and you were paid via 7shifts Payroll in the previous calendar year.)

Inactive employee connected to an Inactive Employer 

(You're no longer employed by a company that no longer uses 7shifts Payroll, but you were paid via 7shifts Payroll in the previous calendar year.)

Active Employee connected to an Active Employer

(You're still employed by a company that currently uses 7shifts Payroll and used 7shifts Payroll in the previous calendar year)

Active Employee connected to an Inactive Employer 

(You're still employed by a company that no longer uses 7shifts Payroll, but you were paid via 7shifts Payroll in the previous calendar year.)

⚠️ Important: If you do not meet the criteria to access your W-2 digitally, please reach out to your employer for help in retrieving your W-2 for the previous calendar year.

  1. Login to the 7shifts mobile app.
  2. Click on the More Menu icon (☰) in the bottom right corner of the screen.
  3. Tap on Pay Management and select the Tax forms tab.

  4. Tap on the W-2 for the previous tax year to view it.
  5. Tap on the header (e.g., Federal W-2 (2024)), then choose to save the file to your device, lock the PDF, print it, or share it via email.
